If you are already familiar with the five-star Broadmoor Hotel’s many amenities and recreational or dining features, you’re in for a treat. After several months in the works, this spring the Main Hotel will debut its new lobby, guest accommodations and refreshed spaces. These updates reflect its classic beauty and historic elements while incorporating upscale features important to today’s guests and visitors.
At entry, you will notice the lobby’s expansive new open design. Gone are walls! Instead, you’ll find comfortable seating areas that welcome casual gatherings. Two dramatic fireplaces have been added for those cool Colorado evenings. The lobby’s marble staircase is free-standing and winds up to the Mezzanine above. But it is Café Julie with its seating and tables for morning coffee and pastries, afternoon gelato for the family and evening wine or beer service that add a fresh, hospitable ambience. Add to that our chef’s new chocolate station, behind glass and created for spectators interested in watching how gourmet candy is made. And for those who love The Broadmoor’s rich history and remember stories of hotel founder Spencer Penrose and his delightful wife Julie, you’ll discover the café features a hand-painted mural depicting her special legacy.
Finally, if you enjoy the game of golf as much as I do, be sure to tour the redesigned Broadmoor Golf Club. In addition to a complete golf shop update, dining room remodel and great new bar area, Heritage Hall is a must-see. Its mounted displays feature the complete history of golf at The Broadmoor, including the people — athletes, celebrities, dignitaries and outstanding club members — who have elevated its reputation.
So whether you are a visitor to the Pikes Peak region or are considering the purchase of a home, it is amenities and updated features like these that contribute so much to our Broadmoor lifestyle.
