A just-announced Amazon fulfillment center, a downtown soccer stadium, a considerable urban renewal project, the almost-completed U.S. Olympic museum illustrate why the Colorado Springs real estate market is so dynamic right now.

In fact, with many people looking to buy in the area and a low inventory of properties for sale, it’s a great time to put your Colorado Springs home on the market. Demand is already high and much of the development underway suggests continuing buyer interest.

Just last month, Amazon announced the creation of an 800,000-square-foot, order-fulfillment center near the Colorado Springs airport, promising at least 1,000 new full-time jobs at a time of strong job growth and low unemployment. Additional space is planned for offices and warehousing. This comes on the heels of the Amazon delivery station that opened in November, and both are part of the new 960-acre Peak Innovation business park which is in negotiations to sell land for additional development.

Even more development is attracting excitement near downtown with construction of a new stadium for the city’s minor league soccer team, the Switchbacks, and opening of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum on target for May. A large-scale urban renewal project is creating pedestrian walkways, including an $8 million bridge, connecting America the Beautiful Park, a trail system, the Pioneers Museum, the U.S. Olympic Museum and the new stadium.
