This month we will take a brief look back 2018 and review the trends likely to shape the year ahead for the Colorado Springs and Broadmoor-area real estate markets.  I’m pleased to report that brokers Michael Raedel and Tim Sheridan represented the buyer and/or seller on 30 Broadmoor area property sales in 2018 — a number of which sold for $1 million or more.  They were also the top-selling team for homes in Broadmoor Resort Community.

We are optimistic about 2019.  The city’s reputation as a great place to live is attracting more new and relocating families to the community.  We attribute this to the area’s low unemployment and a vibrant economy .  Companies are hiring for high paying positions – particularly in the technology and healthcare sectors.  In fact, CNBC.com recently named the city No. 5 on its list of “The 10 U.S. Best Cities To Find A Job.”  And Money Magazine ranked us among its “The 10 Best Big Cities to Live in Right Now,” based on housing affordability and average work and commute time.   In contrast Denver ranked 13th on the list.

Millennials have also identified Colorado Springs as a desirable place to live.  They like our downtown gentrification, job market and low cost-of-living.  As they settle in, they’re also discovering our good schools, ready access to trails and parks and family friendly lifestyle.  A number have moved to our own Broadmoor neighborhoods that enjoy proximity to top dining, recreation and shopping amenities, Seven Falls Park and more.

If you or someone you know is thinking about selling a property – or if you are new to the area and are looking for the perfect home, we’re here to help.  Our scenic southwest neighborhoods and lifestyle options are among the city’s finest – and nobody knows them better.
