Ross’s declaration of The Broadmoor’s course as his best work, surpassing even Pinehurst No. 2, underscores its exceptional quality and allure.
The evolution of The Broadmoor Golf Club saw the addition of the Broadmoor East course in 1918, boasting the distinction of being the highest golf course in the United States at 6,400 feet elevation. Notably, the acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. was commissioned in 1948 to design an additional nine-hole course, integrating seamlessly with Ross’s original layout to form the new East Course. Jones’s subsequent involvement in 1964 saw the creation of the West Course, enhancing the club’s prestige and expanding its offerings for golf enthusiasts.
