Among the many benefits our Broadmoor homeowners enjoy is proximity to an iconic hotel with a rich and fascinating past.

Retired venture capital executive Bart Holaday moved to Colorado in 2001, and by 2009 had purchased a home in the Broadmoor Resort Community. Today, the former United States Air Force Academy grad and his wife, Cathy can simply walk out their door for a morning hike. That’s because their scenic neighborhood includes almost 20 miles of maintained trails.

“We love being so close to the mountains. This is what Colorado living is all about,” he says, adding that he never gets tired of watching local wildlife and native birds. Because the Holadays’ home is tucked up in Colorado pine and aspen, the 4 bedroom, 6,000 square foot home on 1.77 acres provides a private, spacious setting for visiting family and friends. And the views are spectacular.

Asked why they chose to live here – far from big city life – Cathy is quick to point out that she loves the Broadmoor lifestyle – the ease of living and surrounding natural beauty. “There are so many reasons. First it’s a gated, secure community. If we’re going away, we just tell the guards at the gate so they’ll check on our property. They drive through the community once an hour.” Bart agrees, pointing out that the local airport easy to access from home — just a 15 minute drive away. They also enjoy the social activity, golf and member mixers at the nearby [Broadmoor Golf] club. “The people who live here are wonderful, very genuine,” he adds.

That may explain why the couple has decided to build a new home across the street! They had looked around town, but Bart said ultimately the decision on where to relocate was an easy one. “We liked this community and this end of the street,” he explains. The couple was also motivated by another important factor.
